Georg Cantor:
“The Creator of Set Theory”
“The essence of mathematics lies in its freedom.”

Life:
Georg Cantor was born on March 3, 1845, in St. Petersburg, Russia, and grew up in Germany. He was a German mathematician best known for creating set theory and introducing the concept of different sizes of infinity. Cantor studied at the University of Berlin and later became a professor at the University of Halle. His revolutionary ideas initially faced strong resistance from contemporaries but eventually transformed the foundations of mathematics. He died on January 6, 1918, in Halle, Germany.
Works:
Georg produced influential works that shaped mathematics and science:

Achievements:
Cantor developed the theory of infinite sets, proving that some infinities are larger than others. He introduced cardinal and ordinal numbers and laid the foundation for much of modern set theory, influencing mathematical logic, analysis, and topology.
